Welcome to the New Think Christian!

Josh Larsen

How do you like what we’ve done with the place?

Brighter colors, bigger images, more faces. Yes, the new Think Christian website—our first major overhaul since 2011—looks a bit different, and even moves differently. One of my favorite features is the way images now slowly reveal themselves, making it feel a bit like you’re Harry Potter reading The Daily Prophet.

But TC’s update isn’t just a face-lift. We've redesigned things to make your experience as seamless and enjoyable as possible. As explained by Justin Sterenberg, our digital media director, “This site rebuild is all about the content. We didn’t want anything to get in the way of that. Everything is focused on making it easier, faster, and less distracting to actually consume Think Christian.” Consider the image animation I mentioned above: it looks cool, yes, but it also allows text to load more quickly so that you can start reading right away.

The redesign also nicely coincides with our recent shift in focus. In order to make better use of our resources and foster a stronger fellowship, we’ve narrowed our purview from all of culture to faithfully reflecting on popular culture in particular. In music and movies, in television and video games, we seek to find—in the words of the Apostle Paul—“whatever is true, whatever is noble, whatever is right, whatever is pure, whatever is lovely, whatever is admirable.” We aim to consider how popular culture and its cultivators interact with God’s story, and we hope to do this with grace, appreciation, and discernment.

We’re grateful to have you as a part of our ministry. Please continue to comment on our articles and pass them along to the pop-culture enthusiasts you know. Sharing is now even easier on our new site, thanks to a tool that allows you to highlight text and instantly distribute it via email and social media. So take a look around and get to know the new Think Christian. We hope you enjoy!
